PARTNERSHIPS AND AFFILIATIONS

Tenby and District Swimming Club benefits from a number of partnerships, affiliations and links with national and local organisations.

Swimming related bodies:

1. National Governing Body - Swim Wales

2. Regional Swimming Body - Swim Wales South West Region

The club operates under the framework of guidelines laid down by Swim Wales and all our swimming members and club officials are members of Swim Wales. Our members take part in annual competitions arranged by the Regional Swimming body.

Unitary Authority:

1. Local Authority – Pembrokeshire County Council.

The club works closely with the manager and staff of the Tenby Leisure Centre where all the club training sessions are carried out in the 4 x 25m pool. There is developing link within the Tenby Leisure Centre between the local authority “Learn to Swim” program and the lower echelons of the club, with many children progressing to competitive swimming when able. All club swimmers now pay their swimming fees directly to the local authority via Direct Debit, with attendance at sessions being monitored by leisure centre staff.

Local Swimming Clubs:

1. County Performance Club - Pembrokeshire County Swimming

2. County Development Clubs – Pembroke & District, Haverfordwest Seals, Fishguard Flyers & Milford Haven Tigers.

Our close association with the Pembrokeshire County Performance Club provides a clear development pathway for those members of our club wishing to take their sport to a higher level. We enjoy a friendly rivalry with the other clubs within the county.

Local Sports Clubs:

1. Sports Club – Saundersfoot Sports and Social Club

Our affiliation with Saundersfoot SSC allows for the provision of a free meeting room where committee meetings are held, together with discounts for social events.

Local Schools:

Our swimmers are drawn from a number of different junior schools around Tenby and the south of the Pembrokeshire. The majority of our senior swimmers attend Greenhill School in Tenby, but there are a number of swimmers from more widespread locations. Our swimmers often represent their schools in competitions in the county and beyond.

Sponsors:

1. Main Sponsor – Chevron

We have been fortunate enough to receive support from Chevron for a number of years. Many other organisations have been kind enough to provide irregular support on occasions.
